Matexpo BV collects personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself. This personal data can be used for all kinds of purposes. By using our website, you agree that DEMO DAYS may collect, store and use your information as described below. As part of our services, DEMO DAYS powered by Matexpo records data from exhibitors and potential exhibitors, as well as visitors and potential visitors. Matexpo BV processes personal data about you because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself.

DEMO DAYS powered by Matexpo collects information from the website in two ways: (1) passively (e.g. via cookies and similar technology), and (2) actively (e.g. when you send us an email request).

When you visit our website, we automatically collect some information from your computer. The information includes:
Information about your computer (device type), including (where available) your IP address, operating system and browser type. This is used for system administration, to filter traffic, to look up user domains and to report statistics.

The data is used to perform the service correctly and to comply with contractual provisions, where applicable to process payments, and for other services and internal operations of The Fair Experts group.  The data is stored on Matexpo BV's (a company under the holding company The Fair Experts) own secure servers or those of a third party. We will not combine this data with other personal data that we have access to.

  • Information you provide by submitting forms on our website. This includes registration to use the site, use of services, newsletters and alerts, surveys if the user decides to leave their details, various technical means, including cookies and log information, registration for an event, or applying for a job. Pages that collect this type of information may provide further explanation as to why your data is required and how it will be used. It is entirely up to you whether you wish to provide it.
  • Information you provide to us when you wish to do business with us.
  • If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.

Personal data of (potential) visitors and (potential) exhibitors may be used to inform them about DEMO DAYS powered by Matexpo and about products and services from carefully selected third parties. Exhibitor data may also be used for publication in the exhibition catalogue.

The user largely determines the quality and quantity of personal data provided via www.demodays2026.be. Data processing will be more extensive as the use of the website and services increases.

4) SPECIAL AND/OR SENSITIVE PERSONAL DATA THAT WE PROCESS

Our website and/or service does not intend to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years of age. Unless they have permission from their parents or guardian. However, we cannot check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore advise parents to be involved in the online activities of their children, in order to prevent data about children being collected without parental consent. 5) FOR WHAT PURPOSE AND ON WHAT BASIS DO WE PROCESS PERSONAL DATA?

DEMO DAYS powered by Matexpo processes the collected personal data to identify you and, if necessary, to contact you and offer you optimal service. Matexpo BV processes your personal data for the following purposes:

  • Processing payments
  • Sending newsletters and/or other advertising: only after opt-in
  • Correct access to and use of the website and services
  • Sending various commercial and non-commercial messages, both on our own behalf and on behalf of partners
  • Sending out and analysing surveys or research questionnaires

Matexpo BV does not make decisions based on automated processing on matters that can have (significant) consequences for individuals. These are decisions taken by computer programmes or systems, without involving a human being (for example, an employee of Matexpo BV).

8) HOW LONG WE STORE PERSONAL DATA

Matexpo BV does not retain personal data longer than necessary for the purpose for which it was provided or as required by law. Personal data will be removed from our files after a maximum of 5 years of inactivity.

9) IS PERSONAL DATA SHARED WITH THIRD PARTIES?

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties under any circumstances, except where this is necessary for the performance of agreements between you and us or to comply with any legal obligation. In some cases, the information may be shared internally, in which case our employees are also obliged to respect the confidentiality of your data.

In addition, your personal data will be passed on to external service providers that we use, but these service providers are not permitted to use this personal data in any way. Matexpo BV may use various external parties for the effective processing of personal data. These external parties act exclusively on behalf of Matexpo BV and are referred to as ‘actual processors’. Matexpo BV can provide the following guarantees regarding data processing:

  • Actual processors are only appointed after a comparative selection process in which high-quality and secure processing is paramount.
  • Matexpo BV has made clear agreements in its contract with the actual processor regarding the quality of data processing.
  • The actual processor may only use the data for the purposes specified by Matexpo BV.

Your personal data will never be processed by an actual processor who does not endorse or guarantee the European principles on the protection of personal data.

Actual processors have specialised knowledge of data processing. These processors are therefore free to choose between different techniques and procedures, for which they bear full responsibility.

b) Other responsible processors

Our website uses various third-party integrations. Through these integrations, third parties collect personal data that they can then use for their own processing operations.

The following parties are designated as responsible processors:

DEMO DAYS may be held to provide full or partial insight into the personal data processed on the basis of a court order, an order from a competent public authority or applicable regulations. Matexpo BV will always guarantee a certain degree of restraint with regard to data insight, but within the limits of the order to provide insight.

11) WHAT RIGHTS DOES THE USER HAVE? VIEWING, MODIFYING OR DELETING DATA

Right to access, correct and delete personal data: you have the right to view the data that DEMO DAYS has registered about you and to have any inaccurate or incomplete data corrected. www.demodays2026.be makes every effort to ensure that personal data is processed in accordance with legal requirements. The processing is carried out with particular attention to:

If the conditions are met, Matexpo BV is obliged to comply within 30 days of receiving the request. If Matexpo BV does not respond, refuses or if the response is unsatisfactory, the user can always contact the privacy commission to obtain compliance with their rights.

DEMO DAYS cannot be held liable for any direct or indirect damage resulting from the use of this website or the information made available on or via the site, including, without limitation, all losses, work interruptions, damage to your programmes or other data on the computer system, or to your equipment or programmes.

a) Right of access

The user has the right to know whether or not data concerning him is being processed, as well as to receive at least information about the purposes of this processing, the categories of data to which this processing relates and the categories of recipients to whom the data is provided.

Matexpo BV retains a certain margin of discretion regarding the exercise of the right of access. Matexpo BV is not obliged to grant the user access to his specific file containing personal data, nor is it obliged to provide the user with a copy of this file.

The period for correct access may be extended to 30 days after receipt of the request, in accordance with the legal provisions.

b) Right of objection and correction

12) CLICK BEHAVIOUR AND IP ADDRESS

The DEMO DAYS website tracks general visitor data without identifying visitors. The purpose of this is to optimise the website.
