In 2018, MATEXPO went off-road and gained a sister event, DEMO DAYS powered by MATEXPO.
DEMO DAYS is a three-day event with continuous demonstrations and testing of excavators, crushers and trucks for the construction sector.
The fair always takes place in a non-MATEXPO year. 

Origin of DEMO DAYS
In 2013 and 2015, MATEXPO was expanded with a demo zone located in the middle of the Het Ei motorway interchange in Kortrijk. The zone was accessible from the MATEXPO exhibition grounds via a large temporary footbridge over the motorway. Despite the many efforts made, exhibitors found it difficult to have to provide staff at two different locations during MATEXPO: at their stand and in the demo zone. Visitors were keen to see demonstrations, but these had to be more extensive than in the demo zone.

After extensive discussions with many companies, it quickly became clear that there was great enthusiasm for organising a demo event separate from MATEXPO, where visitors could see machines in operation. In 2017, the demo zone disappeared from the exhibition floor to make way for a new initiative: DEMO DAYS powered by MATEXPO. DEMO DAYS is organised by the same organisation as MATEXPO and is a great addition to the exhibition.

We are now approaching the fourth edition. The first edition took place in Braine L'Alleud, but since 2022, DEMO DAYS has found its home at the Terril Saint-Antoine in Boussu.
